Blog Post 4: Reflecting on the Environmental Geography of Your Meal or Product
1A: I would say the easiest solution to reduce the environmental impacts my meal has globally is to simply stop all production of everything that negatively affects the Earth, but unfortunately, that is not an option. My realistic solution is to begin powering cheese factories specifically with renewable energy. Energy that does not contain harsh chemicals. If factories use energy that is powered by wind or solar then the environment in which we all globally live in will begin to heal. In my opinion, multiple different types of factories need to consider this, not just cheese producing factories/farms. Limitations include gathering resources at such a large scale that will make this able to happen and money. 1B: My solution to reducing environmental impacts locally includes decreasing the amount of cheese factories we have around the state of Wisconsin.
